He first takes the time to explain how the typical process tends to unfold, as having this understanding can greatly mitigate the anxiousness often accompanying this major undertaking. Once his client has a good understanding of what to expect, and Ander has a good understanding of the business, he then works with his client to undertake a pre-sale assessment of the business well before starting any third-party conversations, and only once the internal "house" is in order, in a collaborative process with his client and other members of the client advisor team, they brainstorm appropriate potential successor/buyer parties. He then guides the process of offer-inquiries through negotiating purchase terms, all the way to closing.
