Ander Smith has broad experience, both as in-house counsel and working at top-notch law firms. In addition to working with business owners in the context of selling their business, his experience includes advising individuals and partners just starting a new business to negotiating with large, multi-national corporations.  He’s served as lead attorney in transactions with well-known corporations such as DreamWorks, ThermoFisher, Ford, IBM, and Travelocity, to name just a few.

Prior to venturing out independently, Ander served as General Counsel for Ringland-Johnson, Inc., a regional construction and real estate development firm.  In this role, Ander oversaw all legal matters, from routine contract negotiations to structuring and negotiating joint ventures, to addressing conflicts with owners and sub-contractors, and working with outside counsel as necessary.  He also managed and served as managing broker for Ringland’s real estate development affiliate, analyzing not only legal issues on potential developments, but also structuring financial pro forma and equity arrangements.

Ander’s in-house experience also includes working as Senior Counsel with Qwest Communications (now CenturyLink) in Denver, Colorado.  At Qwest, Ander was one of four attorneys responsible for negotiating agreements with Qwest’s Fortune 1000 customers, as well as assisting on various strategic transactions, including working on a multi-Billion dollar joint venture between Qwest and IBM.


Ander has also worked at the following top-caliber law firms:  Hinshaw & Culbertson in Rockford, Illinois, Otten, Johnson, Robinson, Neff & Ragonetti in Denver, and Katten Muchin in Chicago. 

Ander is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Colorado.  He’s served on various local boards and is a regular volunteer at his local church, City First.
